The night was warm but with a small breeze blowing through the plains that softly caressed the blades of waist high grass with its silent fingers, making them sway in a dance that would last for so long as the wind decided it was needed. The moon was waning, half crescent giving just enough soft light to make the entire Plains area appear a magical place to be indeed.
There was something else out there in the plain that made the grass move, though not as gently as the breeze, more demandingly as it was that of a vampire, his hands down at his side, wrists bent outward with his fingers spread to allow the blades of grass to slither between them as he gracefully moved forward toward the gate of the cit of Meerin.
As his feet travelled closer to the gate, he moved nearer the dirt path that would bring him through the gate. The closer he moved toward the road, the shorter the grass became until there were no more blades of grass to slide between is outstretched fingers. Eventually his feet hit the dirt his hands no long outstretched to find amusement in the feel of the blades of grass between them but instead swinging in a casual manner at his sides as he strode ever closer to the gate.
It had been a long trip from the capital city of Karador, not an uneventful trip either, it had been quite exciting to say the least as he had decided to travel through the mountain path instead of the easy, long and more exposed, trade route around the mountain. His lips curved into a slight smirk as he remembered the run-in with the Trolls deep down there in the depths of the caves. He chuckled as he remembered how fun it was to trick them into a dance with this devil. Two less Trolls in the world was a good thing, he supposed he had done the world a favour that night, or was it day? Honestly, when one is down that far into the earth it doesn't really matter.
He approached the gate now, knowing he'd have to put on a good show of being a simple traveller so that the guards would allow him entrance without much delay. Oh how he hated delays, the irritation of being detained for any reason was not one of his favourite things to deal with as his patience was thin when it came to human males.
To his amazement the city guards simply nodded in his direction as he passed through. Did he really appear that nonthreatening? He was almost offended by the ease of his entrance at this time of evening.
He would definitely have to check in to a Inn for a bath and clean clothes; he supposed he probably not only smelled of Trolls but was very dirty as well. He would, of course, need to offend another human soon and before he bathed as his body was telling him that he'd already gone a bit too long without sustenance.
He made his way through the city, noting where all the buildings were situated, the nooks and crannies and various places the less than upstanding citizens of Meerin resided at dark. All this information would come in handy in the near future, quite handy indeed.
It wasn't long before he managed to find the meal he was looking for. A prostitute by the looks of her. Well, the fact that she propositioned him might have had a little bit to do with his assumption as well.
He accepted her offer without much more than a wicked little grin and taking her firmly by her hand. She winced slightly in his grasp but proceeded to lead him onward to her room at an Inn off the beaten path. There was evidently no need to pay for the room as it was probably hers. They entered the room and closed the door behind them.
Moloch emerged from the doorway, a smile on his warmed lips and a personal prize in his jacket pocket. He had obviously bathed and changed his clothing at some point during the couple hours spent inside that room. His feet stepped lightly down from the one step that lead up to the door and then easily disappeared back out into the streets to find a more pleasant sleep arrangement for the quickly approaching day.
It didn't take him long to find his destination, though the Inn was on the other side of town, he'd made quick jumps to get there faster as the sun shining soon was definitely a problem.
He stepped into the suit and looked around, satisfied that the 40 gold he'd paid for the short two day stay, the place was large with heavily curtained windows and a walk-in closet.
“Oh, you will do just fine indeed.” he said as he stepped into the closet and shut the door with a final 'click' and went fast to sleep in that welcome darkness.
