Kaye gave a half laugh to his quip about his practice hurting as she imagined hm on his butt more often than not in the beginning.
“I imagine so.” She stated quite frankly.
The had arrived at the Inn and walked up to the door though they had no need to open it as just as they reached, some drunk stumbled out narrowly missing them on his way down the steps. Kaye watched his fall and stifled a laugh but shook her head as they moved through the opening.
She let her arm slide out of his and slide down to be holding his hand and turn to the right instead of the usually left that would lead them into the bar. They moved down a little hall and ended up at a desk. Behind the desk was an old woman, probable late into her 70's by the look of her. She greeted them with a warming smile, her eyes lingering over Street with question as she then turned them to Kaye.
“Mi' Lady.” She smiled up at her with an almost loving, motherly gaze. “Same room as usual?” The old lady asked.
“Yes Ma'am.” Kaye replied, letting go of Street's hand and leaning over the counter to give the old woman a hug. “Hey, is there still some bread and cheese left?” She then asked as she was standing back up.
“Of course there is mi' Lady.” She replied and turned and kicked a man in the foot that had been snoozing behind her. “Hey, go fetch some bread and cheese for Lady Kaye.” she snorted at the old man who opened up and eye and moved it over the old lady and then to Kaye.
“Evening mi' Lady.” He offered with a smile as he rose to his feet and turned to get what he was told to.
“Oh...” the old lady said turning to him before he disappeared. “Grab a bottle of wine to..” She turned and winked at Kaye who immediately blushed.
“Martha!” Kaye gasped and then laughed lightly at the woman’s jest. “Hey would you please send a note to my parents for me too?” She added as she reached into her purse and pulled out a single coin and planted it in the old woman’s hand.
“Oh course, but this is far to much for that old room mi' Lady.. I don't think I could change...” She started as she held up the gold coin in her hand; Kaye cut her off.
“I'll hear none of such talk, you've always been good to me and consider it an anniversary present, if I remember right that will be tomorrow, you and Fred go out and do something nice.” She told the woman with finality in her tone.
The old man returned with a basket containing what looked like the things the old lady had sent him off for. After she’d taken them and was about to turn away Martha stopped her.
“You be wantin' this Mi' Lady..” She stated and Kaye turned back again to see the key to what would be their room in her hand as well a tote bag. “Your things.” She stated and handed it all over to Kaye.
“Thank you.” Kaye replied with a warm smile and then turned her attention over to Street.
“Shall we then?” She asked and presented her hand to him to take up once more.

Street spent most of the conversation at awkward attention as he really had no part in it. For the most part, he looked around the entrance hall and around the desk and office where everything seemed so lavish to him. The best he was used to was the inside of the bar was far less luxuries for obvious reasons, or inside the city library which was simple and bland as far as buildings went, though it did always please Street to be indoors. Kaye became his focus for a moment as she leaned over the counter, and he couldn't help but watch her long shirt rise to show more curve through black tights.
He grinned when the old lady ordered them a bottle of wine, and the basket of food caught his eyes when it came. As simple as it it was, the food seemed quite luxurious to him. He took Kaye's hand and followed her up the stairs, taking another glance down as she walked ahead of him and then turned his head slightly to toss a smile at the old lady. He wasn't holding on to any expectations of course, but there could always be hope and it was clear the old lady was rooting for Street.

The old lady caught his smile shot towards her and gave him a quick wink and then with her two hands, ushered him forward before returning to the ledger in front of her. It was true. The old lady was in his corner, she'd been trying to find Kaye a suitable boy for the last year. Though this was the first time she'd seem Kaye even so much as be interested in one. It was a sort of relief to the old woman’s' heart. What would she care if the kid was 'high born' or not.
They reached the door to their room after climbing all the way to the top most floor, which is to say the third floor, the place wasn’t THAT big. With no more than a quick pause to fit the key in the hole, Kaye opened up the door and moved them inside.
The room, or rooms, were huge, taking up the most the third floor. It was of course the suite. Kaye looked about at the room and smiled. In this room was what could be considered the sitting room. There was a nice comfortable couch that faced a fireplace that hand wood stacked neatly on the side awaiting to be used. The tables at either end of the couch were sturdy and made of a dark wood. There was a writing desk to the right of the room likewise made of the same sturdy fashion and dark wood. The floor was covered in a medium/dark blue rug that looked soft and comfortable with a white tiger pelt, no head, laying before the hearth. The drapes were closed and covering what would seem to be a large sliding glass door that probably led out to a balcony. To the right was a small kitchenette complete with a small round table and two chairs; the flooring there was hard wood. There were two doorways leading from the main room, both slightly ajar, one which would be the washroom the other more the bedroom.
“Well, welcome to my home away from home.” She stated and then turned away from Street releasing their hands and then walked to the kitchen and placed the pack and basket on the surface of the table. She then pulled out and sat on one of the chairs as she stripped her feet of the boots she'd been wearing all night, likewise pulling her socks off as she went. She placed the socks and boots aside and once more smiled up at Street.
“So, what you think?” She asked with that same smile.

“I think I'm gonna be sick.” Street stood awe struck in the entrance as he gazed around the room, noticing that it seemed to continue even beyond the hall they were in, as if it weren't grand enough on it's own. “I umm, I didn't realize a person could get a place like this.” He slowly pushed the door closed behind himself with his right foot as he continued to gaze about the chamber in amazement. “I mean, I don't really know what I thought I guess; it never occurred to me that there would be so much space for one or two people, or so much stuff.” Street started wandering hesitantly about the room as if he weren't supposed to be there. The grandeur of the room was exciting to him in a forbidden sort of way.
Pushing open one of the doors, he stopped and stood only a pace inside the washroom. It was at least twice as big as the cellar he'd slept in the night before with six other rats, and the ceilings were twice as high. Street turned around and stepped back into the main hall. “So like, you said a room – I thought like...” He trailed off, but made a sort of shrinking motion between his hands. “A room.” he completed.
His mind was blown. He was trying and so far failing to understand the balance of the world they were living in. He knew, obviously, there was a great divide between the classes. He just had never known enough of the other side of it to really understand how big that divide really was. He couldn't get over the scope of where he was enough to be excited for being there. “I slept last night in a cellar half as big and half as high as the rinsing room.” He started to express his disbelief as he hesitantly made his way across the room. “With six other rats, gambling their crackers at a game of cards.” He really was feeling a little ill – guilty for even being in that room, and then he pushed open the other door.
Street stood still in the doorway, speechless, and placed a hand over his mouth. The room was about as big as the first, more chairs and tables, and in the middle a bed as big as the alley way cellar. He had tried all night not to expose him self in a vulnerable light, but it sure wasn't working anymore. The weight of realizing what was available in their world, to people in that very city, even steps away from where he often spent his couple copper coins for mead, had struck him like a wall of bricks. He didn't have anything left to say, he couldn't get anything straight enough in his head to speak it. He simply stood in the doorway with one hand over his mouth, gazing blankly at the bed.

Kaye watched him hesitantly walk about in awe over the suite. She had not thought about the impact, of what to her was no bigger than her bedroom in her own home, could or would have on someone from the street. To her, this was actually a very small suite. Much smaller in fact than those her family would rent when they were on the road. To her this was just a place to stay for a night after drinking so she didn't have to walk drunk all the way home.
Her eyes continued to follow him through the suite; he looked a bit pale. She listened closely as he told her about where he had slept the night before and though she wasn't in the least bit sorry for him, it did put into perspective the sincere fact that he really was from a whole different world. She let him stand there without speaking and moved her way over to the washroom and sat at the tubs edge. She turned the tap and allowed the cool water to get warm before plugging the bottom with the plug. The bath hand running water but as with all these older places it only had one temperature and that was hot; the water was pumped from an underground spring and heated beneath the Inn by the fires that kept the place warm year round.
Satisfied that his bath was being drawn, she wanted to be certain he'd get in there sooner than later; he looked as though he needed it now more than ever. She stood and walked from the room and then over to where street still stood.
“Do you want a drink?” She asked him quietly from behind, her right hand moving to the small of his back where she placed it softly.
It would take another several minutes for the tub to fill. It wasn't exactly a small tub either. She figured she had enough time to pour him a glass of wine before she’d have to shut the water off. Then another while before it would cool enough for him to get in. In the tub at this point would be just the thing he needed she thought. Or at least that's what she would need after a shock like this obviously was to him.

“Sure.” It had taken a moment to answer, but Street tried to shake the lost feeling he was having. A drink of wine seemed just the thing to help with that. “I'd love a drink right now.” He turned and smiled at Kaye, and took another thorough look at her as he did, before putting his right hand on her left side and glancing about the main room again. “This is unreal.”
He was still thinking of course, he couldn't help it. Since Kaye had interrupted him though, the thoughts weren't as drowning as before – just very heavy. Street had long since learned that nothing was ever black and white, and there would always be several layers to every issue – he always preferred to look at the brighter side, but that was feeling like a stretch in this circumstance. This place at very least, was proving to be a moment of revelations for him, and would give him great food for thought. He didn't want to bring down the evening, so decided he would do what he could to push the heavy thoughts aside for a while.
Street moved away from Kaye, pulled the extra shirt from his belt, and walked to the table next to the bathroom door where he put the shirt down along with the throwing knife and his small blade.

“Ok then.” Kaye replied and after he let her loose again she walked to the table where she opened the bottle of wine and then after opening a cupboard and taking 2 glasses from there she poured them each full of the red liquid.
She walked over to where Street stood and placed his drink on the table next to him before she disappeared into the washroom to turn off the water. When she came back into the main room she walked over to the couch and patted the seat next to her. “I won't bite...much.” She smiled up at him.
It was a little disconcerting that this place had such an adverse effect on Street, she had wanted them to have a nice evening and now she thought perhaps she might not have taken her usual room, but she couldn't fully understand and she knew that. She only hoped that this wasn't the deal breaker she'd not wanted to come upon. “Your bath should be ready in a little while, you've got plenty of time to drink that.” She then added as her eyes moved to his drink then back up to meet his gaze.
”Gods he's gorgeous.” She thought to herself as she continued to hold his gaze and smile.

Street turned his head back to look at Kaye as she walked up behind him and placed a cup of wine on the table. “Thanks. He turned the other way to watch her walk into the washroom, and then picked up the cup, turned around sat on the corner of the table, and drank of the wine.
He was in mid sip when Kaye came back through the doorway and walked over to the sit on the couch. His head had turned again and his gaze followed her to the seat, mostly her ass of course, as she walked away. He pulled the cup from his lips and chuckled at her invitation, then stood upright and walked towards her, chomping his teeth a number of times on his way. Sarcasm worked as well in gest as it did in spoken word, though in this case he felt that spoken words could be more forward than they should. He usually was a forward person, but Kaye wasn't another rat he'd just joke around with – he liked her more, and inherently respected her more than he had anyone in the streets.
“Am I drinking this too fast?” he asked jokingly as he leaned back in the seat beside Kaye, looking over at her as he took another swallow.

She giggled and mocking cringed at his chomping action towards her. The entire time holding her glass on one hand without so much as moving it. After he'd seated himself next to her she took a sip of her wine and smiled at his question.
She looked from his cup to his lips and then back again and then at her own. “No, I don't suppose you are... I mean, its not like we're at a formal function with everyone expecting or waiting for you to make a social mistake for them to talk about for the next bazillion years.” She replied with heavy sarcasm in her tone. She then laughed and her eyes moved over to his once more. “Yes, I once guzzled an entire glass full of wine at a dinner party with my parents when I was 18 and they STILL talk about it as if I had committed murder or something.” She sat up straight in her seat and held her glass in an overly proper manner pursing her lips together. “I'm a Socially high bred human and I need not act like a real person.....” She took a small sip from her glass. “..ever.” she shook her head. “Honestly, I really think I was not meant to be born to those people.” She then stated and then just started laughing.
It took her a few moments to stop laughing. She sat back against the couch and put took a real drink from her glass. “Sorry bout that.” She stated almost in a whisper.
“So...how old are you?” She asked seemingly out of the blue.
She figured she might as well get to know him better.

Street watched Kaye as she answered his joke with a story. He was enjoying how real she was, contrary to the characters in her story. It didn't seem very 'real' to Street for people to go about acting a certain way for the sole sake of propriety. Guzzling a glass of wine sure seemed real.
He grinned as she laughed for a few moments, then shook his head at her apology. “I guzzled a glass full of moonshine once.” He returned, laughing a little himself. “I was ten, and threw up all over the older boys that gave it to me.” Street took the whole rest of his cup in wine in one swallow. “I got my ass beat.” He concluded then, figuring that was basically the alley way equivalent to the social story she'd described.
“I'm nineteen now.” he answered he question, looking suggestively down at his empty glass before looking back up at Kaye. “How about you?”

Kaye winced at his story and then narrowed her eyes. "Jerks..." She stated. "They were the ones who gave it to you and you puked on them rightfully so." She said still with a look of anger in her eyes though they softened soon enough.
"Give it hear," she took the cup from him and stood, crossed the room and then plucked the bottle from the table and poured him another. "I'm 20" She stated as she turned around and walked back to the couch and once more sat next to him. "Aside from jumping around on buildings and such, what else do you like?' She asked then, still wanting to know more. Her questions could go on and on and on because she obviously wanted to know all she could about Street.
She smiled and took another sip from her wine. She actually liked to sip wine, she could taste the sweet of it better that way. there were a lot of questions running about in her mind some of them near brought a flush to her cheeks but were quickly pushed back again as she didn't really think she needed to know or wanted to know really. He wasn't one of her less than lady-like friends who would make her blush and giggle at some of the things they'd talk about. He was a guy and to her not just any guy but one she really actually liked.

Street laughed at Kaye's response to his story. It didn't seem that bad to him, since that was really just the kind of thing that happened his whole life – besides the part about spitting up moonshine. Besides, he was sure he'd been beaten up for less before, and not often in a great while as he won more often than not.
He grinned as Kaye took his cup and went to refill it. He was actually comfortable enough drinking with her that he could have refilled his own, but this had her walking away again and left him staring at her ass some more.
“I like you.” He answered briefly, then took a sip of the freshly filled cup she'd handed him and left a moment of potentially awkward silence. “I like to talk with people, and to experience things.” He broke the silence with more answers and looked up at her again. “My world is really simple, so I like to hear about other worlds, like yours, where nothing is the same. It's amazing to think how much is really going on around us, and we don't even see.” He stopped a moment and took another sip of wine – wine that was so very different from the mead and moonshine he was used to – he wasn't sure yet what to make of it or the particular buzz it gave him, but it sure wasn't bad.

Well that certainly wasn't what she expected him to say but she liked that he said it. The awkward silence that followed had her taking a larger drink from her cup. She smiled all the more when she ran those words through her head again. She almost missed the rest of what he said but had just heard the words enough to get what he was saying.
“Well.. I like you too Street.” She gave back to him but left no silence after. “You say your world is simple, but to me that is something.” she went on her tone matter-of-fact. “I live in a world where every step you take and every word that comes from your mouth is judged by a group of peers and Elders. A world where people will laugh behind your back and those who one would consider friend will stab you in the back if they think it will gain them a spot higher on the food chain. I come from a world where brothers will literally kill brothers to gain more power and women are looked at as prizes to parade around and if they falter in anyway they are put away and in steps a mistress who might be younger and prettier or perhaps more refined...” She then finished off her drink. “I hate my world.” She admitted. “That's why I decided to train as a nurse, so that I could get out of it. Oh I had some heart breaking arguments with my parents over it but... I am a lucky one, my family will bend for their children's happiness. It isn't so for most Noble families. Too any young girls married off to older men for power and added money to their estates.” She shook her head and then allowed her smile to spread over her lips again. “Once I'm done training, I plan to move to the normal housing district and live away from all that.” She finished and sighed and then laughed almost guilty like. “Of course I won't deny my parents their help ya know... I've kind of grown to like money.” She finished.

Her response was satisfying, though no time was left to dwell on it. Street sipped his wine slower, as she did, and tried to settle on the taste.
“It doesn't sound like I'd like your world either.” he responded pensively after she finished her explanation. “Too much he said, she said, i think. But women are trophies no matter where you go.” He paused a moment before continuing on that line. “That's why the alley was so tense. The dogs there saw a better prize than any they'd seen before, and they wanted it. Women are a sign of power even there, a show of strength and dominance to have a better woman than the others. There were more stalkers in the alley tonight than I've ever seen before.”
He paused a moment, staring at Kaye before he looked up and glanced around the room. “And I totally get why you like the money. I like money too, by the way, I just never realized that more of it would get this.”The heavy thoughts about the world this room had brought were still spinning, though slowly, and were looking in many different directions.
“I'm glad your parents are cool.” He returned to the conversation. “And I'm sure you'll be a great nurse.”

Kaye rolled her eyes. “Men...” She simply stated and then laughed. “Well I figure your bath is probably ready for you now, by the way.” She told him and then got up from the couch and went over and refilled her cup.
As she refilled her cup she opened the pack the lady had given her and she began pulling clothes out of it and then laughed slightly. “You're not the only one who stashes clothes in their sleeping spots ya know.” She teased and continued to pull different things from the pack as if looking for something. She even set her glass down and started rummaging about inside her pack with both hands and then.... “Ah HA!” She exclaim and tossed a clean black tank over his way. “Toss me your others and I'll have them burned... “ She joked. “Err.. I mean cleaned and mended.” She didn't so much as offer as told him.
She then turned her attention back to the other clothes now scattering the tabletop and plucked from them something for her to get comfy in and then unceremoniously stuffed everything else back inside the pack. Had she been sleeping on her own she probably would have just wore the tank but she wasn't and so figured she probably should actually wear a sleeping gown.
