Makura watched as Eleisia took the utmost care in taking out what seemed to be a very rare manuscript. Even if it was just a copy, it was still quite old by the look of it.
She saw sketch after sketch of various human anatomy, and her face turned bright red as a more "masculine" picture was laid out. She quickly diverted her attention more towards the writings that had also been lain out. She looked over them for a while. She could understand parts of it, definitely more than an average girl her age, but there was still quite a bit that she didn't get at all.

"So... would you rather I left you alone with deKampf... or should I send someone to help you out?"
eleisia's work really could wait. Her assistants were by no means incompetent. And frankly, she would love to sit and pore over manuscripts all day.
In the end, it would be Makura's choice that sealed her decision. As a librarian, she lived to serve-- and learn. Perhaps her day would be spent piecing together the fragments of ancient smashed pottery. She hoped not.

I'd rather you left me alone to begin with, but you're still here, aren't you? But Makura knew very well that it was herself that could've easily left anytime. So why was she still here? Perhaps it was because that, while Eleisia did annoy her greatly, there was something about her that continued to fuel Makura's curiosity, much like Eleisia's own neverending desire to learn.
Without so much as looking up from the pages of the manuscript, she said, "I suppose if you've got nothing better to do, you could tell me what you know about this particular manuscript. However little that may be."

"You're right; I don't know much. But then, I don't really need to. I've studied an awful lot to learn what your blood knows naturally.
"If you ask me- which you won't- these manuscripts will not teach you anything new. But I believe that they will help you remember. And for you, genetic memory may be more valuable than even you wish to admit."
eleisia looked directly into Makura's eyes, her deep brown irises fixed on the odd lights that formed the 'daemonic' in the girl's gaze, and significantly, she grinned, showing perfectly formed white human teeth.

Makura could feel Eleisia's gaze upon her. She looked up at her. "What are you so smily about? If you can't help, than perhaps you should go make yourself useful elsewhere."
Makura continued looking at a page from the manuscript. Slowly her eyes drifted discretely back toward Eleisia. What is with her? Why is she so interested in me? Even more-so, how does she know so much? Stupid librarian.

eleisia pulled her smile into a respectable, if smart-aleck-y smirk, and stood. An assistant hushed the air behind him at the sound of her heavy wood chair scraping against the marble floor. Catching eleisia's eye, he smiled sheepishly and turned back to his table full of architectural plans.
"Right you are, then! I'll be over here if you need me."
The chair was an awkward lift, but eleisia bent her weight into it, and it spun to face the broad empty table behind. Pulling fresh sheets of linen paper from a nearby chest, she began to prepare scroll ends for Marek's plans. The blond assistant began to pile the onionskin-thin sheets, and eleisia's friendly smile did not acknowledge the roiling miasma of angry confusion focused on the manuscripts behind her.
"I think we should overlay the plans for the greenhouse with the specifications for the windowglass."
Marek's adolescent treble returned, eager and agreeable. "And we can add the floor plan for the office Riordan requested!"
