History (I want details people, even if your character can't remember, you do and I want to know.)
Only child of Patrick and Rose Fitzgerald, Farlee was born and raised in Meerin. His parents were poor and worked on a farm that was owned by some more prominent members of the town and brought him to work with them so he could help out and get to know how things worked. So from a very young age he knew what labor was and did not flee from it.
While on the farm he got to admire the fruits and vegetables as well as the flowers they had there. One of the grounds keepers would tell him which flowers were of which species and all their characteristics, information that he memorized quickly as it was a big interest to him.
Eventually, when Farlee was about 14 years old, the owners of the land asked him if he would like to try his hand at selling some flowers and he said yes. They basically became his supplier and whatever profit he made off them was his to keep. It took a while before he got out of the red seeing as even the flowers that did not sell, he had bought anyways and had to suffer the loss, but he got used to which kinds sold more and got a name for himself over the first few years.
Almost 60 years later, he has a real shop and is in the green money wise, though not enough to say he's rich, but at least he does not owe anyone and what's his is his.
His wife, May, died 13 years ago but his children Marcy (Married to Tom) and Fred (married to Hillary) are grown up and have families of their own (Cathy and William are Marcy's kids and Fred has Patrick, Rose and Jack). Their kids help Grandpa out now and then at his shop.
