It was dark and wet from the storm that had just lightened to a slight drizzle. Beads of watter dripped down Raven's pale, serious looking face as he further disturbed the small puddles of water in the walkway. He had many errands to run this night and not much more than a few hours or so do to it in. Raven was new here and didn't know the terrain very well, so he had to start somewhere... he knew this was a poor excuse to take his mind away from business, but it was an excuse none-the-less.
He kept walking down the ally, without taking much thought into the uncanny amount of darkness, for the only sources of light came from either ends of the street, even the moon and stars were covered up.

Anasha turned away from the fallen corpse that laid now at her feet, the once rich and more than pompous gent had lived a fat life, and the purse that resided still on his person would prove a good find for a lucky thief or beggar perhaps. Anasha wasn’t interested in his money, she had already been paid more than handsomely for the man’s demise and, was no thief, she was what she was, and it always seemed that to take from the ones she was paid to kill seemed in someway demeaning to her personal self.
She had just turned and was now walking out of the side alley when she heard the footfalls of another in her presence. She stayed in the deep shadows as she watched him come nearer. His pale features most easily spotted in the near total darkness of the stormy night. She moved with cat-like grace in his general direction, his face new to her, she wondered where it was he might have come from, though she knew that more often than not, curiosity was an assassins undoing in most circumstances, she had decided to throw caution to the wind this time and take a look.
She hoped from the dirty cobbled street of the back alley onto a large garbage container with no sound and then to another, each time making no sound, not even disturbing the huge metal containers as she both landed on them and then pushed off them to land again without sound, until she was not but a few yards from the approaching figure ahead of her and she now crouched in silent darkness to wait for him to pass, her blades that resided closed in the leather gauntlets she wore, ready for action if need be.

Raven maintained his leisurely pace through the back ally which seemed to stretch in the darkness as he proceeded. He smelt something all too familiar in the air, it was freshly spilled blood. Blood reminded Raven of his primal instincts, which included feeding and more feeding, something that could be hazardous to him and anyone around him. However, he has done well to negate these outbreaks in his short existence as a vampire, as his job title required that discipline.
Raven saw the dead round man laying in the pathway, and decided to investigate his cause of death. Before he had the chance to reach the corpse he stopped suddenly, his head panned left as he inhaled through his nose very forcefully, then panned right (in the direction of Anasha) and repeated the process. He could smell a small amount of ale in the air, it came in a slow pulsating manner. His eyes wandered a bit but he did not turn his head until after started for the dead man again. He was aware there is someone near-by but his ability to see and smell were not as good as Raven would have liked, he could not pinpoint the source and they must not have been moving because he could not hear anything over the pitter-patter of rain.
Raven continued to focus on the man at his feet, he knelt down to investigate further. He had been cut although Raven did not care to look for where as blood covered a rather large area. This man would have been an easy prey for someone, he did not have the look of a fighter nor the build, and a knife is quick and silent, but sometimes a bit messy, opposed to many other frequently used methods that Raven had witnessed in his time. This man was familiar, however. Something about him had reminded Raven of something, but he did not know what. It didn't take long for him to notice the somewhat large sack of gold at his side, it had his name hastily etched in the side, he began to suspect why but shrugged and took it anyways before searching for any parchment that might be written on within the man's contents... he needed to find his "customer." Raven listened closely to his surroundings...

Anasha watched the new arrival with much interest as he panned left and then right, pausing slightly here or there. She couldn’t quite tell what it was he was doing, though in her minds eye it looked as though he might be testing the air for any smell of what would be her, as she was the one responsible for the dead man at the new arrivals feet, a dead man whom this male intruder to her space was very interested in for one reason or another.
To the untrained eye, one would see only a thief looking for the moneybag or perhaps more things of value on this dead bureaucrat but to Anasha, she saw much more, this man, searching the body of the dead did it with such agile movements, and a trained hand that he cold only be of two things and they were either a personal guard to the Queen, or an assassin. They way this one was dressed, suggested the later of the two and so, she continued to watch now with growing interest. Why was this man she killed and why was this other assassin so interested in him, and his money? She would have her answers, soon but patients was always the best friend she’d known, and so, she would watch and wait in the shadows, until either the wind changed direction to give her scent away or until she had her answer without approach, this last, was imperative for now, she needed to find out as much as she could before allowing him to know she existed. She never had liked a fight, and would ultimately avoid one of she could, not to mention the fact that all she wanted just now was a nice strong ale and a bit of relaxation.
Unfortunately for Anasha, it seemed the elements were against her and just as she had hoped against, the wind did indeed change direction however, as she felt it on her bare skin, she suppressed an angry growl and extended a hand, igniting the garbage container in front of her and was headed across the alley before the smoke had even started to drift towards the male and his fallen muse. Now, she traveled with certain speed and stealth across the opening of the alley that the newcomer was in to make her way to the other side, hoping, he’ d not see her, hoping, he’d be more interested in the fire starting not 50 yards from his position.

Just as Raven had found the parchment he had been looking for a muffled crack followed by the roar of flames down the path, distracted him for a split second. He stood erect almost immediately and dropped the parcel. Like he had been torn to shreds, Raven seemed to dispel into hundreds of bats, all screeching at once, making a horrible high-pitch sound. His sense of smell might not be very reliable but his sonar-like ears could almost definitely pinpoint any movement.
Thousands of bats scourged the sky each individually giving and receiving their sound waves, soon they would find the witch.

Anasha made it to the far side of the alley just in time to witness the outburst of flying bats that soon overcame any light left in the alley, plunging the entire circle of her playground into complete darkness, a swell creating a most unwanted and dangerous situation. He would find her now, she knew, there was nothing left to do but wait for this night creature to regain its form and approach her, though, she had done well to avoid the creature, he had bested her. Silently, she cursed herself for her curiosity again and no longer wondered what manner of creature he would be, as she could think of no other that would be so pale, as well, choose the form he had.
Anasha then leaned against the wall of the alley and waited for the man to regain himself, wondering where it would be he’d ‘pop’ back to great her. In a few more moments, she opted to go forward and stand at the body of her fallen victim, as she had, she bent and snatched up the piece of parchment he’d dropped and rolled it in her hand.
“Well, if you must, then show yourself, vampire.” She stated, her onyx eyes alert, her free hand flexing slightly over the release of her blade. She of course, would make no hostile move, not unless provoked into doing so; she just simply didn’t like confrontation, not unless she was paid well for it, of course.

The bats swarmed and converged around her making a spiral of darkness, then they twisted and poured into Raven directly behind her. When the last bit of him had returned to its natural state Raven smiled, he was in a good mood right now.
"Hello, what are you doing here? And why did you kill this noble?" Raven questioned, there was something odd about this woman... "Were you trying to run from me?" He began to bombard her with questions not allowing room for reply, he was very curious this night. "Who are you? What is your name? What do you do?" Raven paused a second and seemed to regain control of his natural self as his face relaxed and his tone of voice became serious again, "Is that ale I smell?" He was rather excited and his energy was feeding of an adrenaline rush that pumped through his veins like a freight train.

Anasha didn’t move, she didn’t flinch or even bat and eyes as the vampire recomposed himself into human form behind her. She didn’t turn around when he had completed his transformation, nor did she speak, or even try until he had exhausted his curiosity by bombarding her with so many questions, each one of which she planned on answering, in due time, as she felt it necessary and in her opinion, not all would be necessary.
Then, slowly, she turned around to face the vampire, the piece of parchment he had dropped before his separation of self, residing in her hand, her fiery, onyx eyes taking him in at close range now, as he seemed to find personal space not all too important and stood a bit more close than she’d have preferred, bit still, she would not step back, that could have been seen as wariness on her part, and she refused to show weakness, even in the presence of a vampire.
“Hello…” She started; her quiet silken voice came to his ears now. “What am I doing here you ask? Why, this fat lazy noble brought me here, thinking to gain something more than I was willing to offer.” She continued, a slight silken smile turning up her lips, one to match her voice. " As far as trying to run from you, no, I was simply curious as to what you were doing in the alley, as you are about I.” She went on, her eyes still searching over his features. “I am known as Anasha, Shadow to some, might I enquire as to yours?” She responded and then asked his as well. “And yes, I am certain it would be ale that you smell, as the Tavern was were I met this oaf.” She responded, giving the fat man a kick. “So, what is it that you are doing here?” She then asked, her onyx eyes alight with a fiery light that seemed to burn behind the darkness of the solid blackness of her irises.

Raven stood taller than his new acquaintance by an inch or two. Thus, he had to gaze down a bit at his range to view her onyx eyes. Raven scratched at the back of his neck and raised an eyebrow in interest to her reply. He tried to hold his attention but the fluidity in Anasha's voice caught it like a shiny coin to a raccoon.
When the time had come for Raven to answer Anasha's question he remained looking at her in silence before adding a, "...Oh. You can call me Raven, everyone does."
Raven had seem to be slightly puzzled but quickly shook that off. "I am here, for... business," he was never very good at lying, "And it seems you've dispatched the man who had my instructions." He motioned toward the scroll of parchment that she now held in her hand, "Do you think I could get them back?" Raven sniffled, it seemed as if he was catching a cold, "How unfortunate," he said to himself.

Anasha peered down at the parchment in her hand and then shrugged tough didn’t hand him the parchment straight off. “Raven then it is… a pleasure I am certain.” She said in that same fluid, silken voice as before, her onyx eyes never leaving him, her stance not aggressive nor was it defensive, but merely that of one who’d seemed to be relaxed in the face of what was, ot could be. After a few moments had past, her reached out, her elbow still bent, as his closeness didn’t merit she thrust the parchment out at an arms length, she didn’t have that far between the two of them, and then handed him what it was he’d come after in the first place.
“It would seem, the one paying you, was the one who’d I’d been paid to send to the puffy nobles cloud in the sky.” She then said, having had the chance by that time to go over what she could of the papers she’d just handed over to the other, established, assassin. “It would seem as well that you were lucky enough to have gotten your pay, had I been some thief, it would have been long gone from his side.” She told him without so much as a blink of her onyx gaze.
She remained standing her ground for now, her entire manner, as well her heart rate and anything else about her would not give way to just how apprehensive she had become standing in his presence, though she realized he’d probably not likely try to harm her, he was assassin, and that meant he’d not kill unless paid, unless of course, his vampire nature was the more prominent.
