A soft wind blew through the busy grounds of the Military Keep as men scrambled about, readying themselves and their units for battle against the hordes of fallen that had been unleashed in the city, as well, the threat that even now stood at the great walls of Karador. There had been a great power that took it down, destroyed the gate without so much as a whisper, where no other creature, no matter how powerful either magically or physically, had failed, this creature had torn it down, ignited the magically enhanced structure with the ease of lighting a match. The soft breeze that blew through the compound was not a natural breeze, but carried on its back the scent of fire lilies a scent that no one save a few in the realm would even recognize. It was a sign of what was to come, and a terrible sign indeed. IN the midst of all the hustle and bustle a figure appeared as if from nowhere, and it may as well have been nowhere as the figure was not quite tangible, but ghostly, it’s form moved without walking, a familiar and to most, friendly vision, though, there was something not quite right about the way she looked, Kiara walked the ground, the soft breeze that blew moved about her from foot to shoulders and back down again like some odd phenomenon, a sort of whirlwind that surrounded the ghostly figure and made her look angry. She walked through the crowded area and stopped, just outside the entrance to General Cassius’s quarters where she paused.
“Cassius?” Her soft voice echoed through the doorway, as to why she didn’t enter, was a mystery, either way, the scent of Fire lilies was strong about her ghostly form and her usually soft eyes were dark and almost evil, though he wouldn’t know that until he poked his head out for a glance at his friend. “Cassius, I have news, a message, please come out so we can talk.” Kiara repeated, still standing just on the outside of his abode.
The smell of fire lilies grew and grew until the usual smells of the military grounds was all but covered up, the temperature of the surrounding area seemed to be rising with every passing moment Kiara stood there and waited. The soft wind began to blow a bit harder, now whipping tent flaps and turning up the loose dirt of the ground, making small little whirlwinds here and there that resembled tiny tornadoes and moved through the keep.
