Kailyn was taking a her morning stroll through the garden with a wicker basket in hand that had a few gardning tools attached to it's side, making sure all the vines, trees, shrubs, plants and flowers were well off. Stopping a moment here and there to smell the flowers that were blooming so nicely and kneeling down to pick some foliage for her herblore and some fruits to eat later on.
When her morning chores were done she left her basket to rest in the grass beside her as she knelt, her lengthy yellow dress stretched out around where she resided for the moment. Closing her eyes and leaning her head head back, she inhaled deeply through her nose taking in all the fresh, beautiful smells that surounded her. She could feel her beloved friend soaring through the skies above the garden as it watched over things.
She loved being in gardens and she loved this one in particular for a few reasons. One, she could serve the Karador family as she was raised to do. Two, Cassius regularily came to this garden to converse with Kalista, and Kailyn happened to have her eye on him. So the garden was definately a good place to for her to be.

Dressed in her riding leathers, Kalista walked into her garden, followed, of course by her personal guard. The time was late in the afternoon so dumping them now was out of the question, as they had by now, been at her side from the earliest of the dawn.
As she traversed the cobbled path through her garden, she wore a smile, despite the annoyance of the guards. Truly, she never minded the captain of the Guard, quite liked the character as a matter-of-fact, it was the underlings, the lackeys she tended to call them that annoyed her, though she knew they were there to protect her, and would with their very own lives, they tended to get in her way, they didn’t seem to know what personal space was, though she had tried over and over again to explain it to them, that and the fact that she was capable of taking care of herself more often than not. She grinned slightly at her thoughts. She really did love them all, perhaps more so than they even loved her, it was just times like these, times when she was stressed over the happening of the Kingdome and its surrounding areas, when she became claustrophobic in nature and to have so many about, just bothered her, got under her skin, so to speak.
She turned a corner in the path then and noticed Kailyn in the garden and that grin widened. She liked the Elf who had come to her for a position in the Keep and she knew of her feelings toward the General of her armies and hoped that truly, she might have a chance at gaining his eye, if for nothing else, then to stand at the side of the greatest man that walked the earth. He deserved a sweet girl such as her, and she, deserved to be loved but still, Kalista wondered if he would ever find anyone to let into his heart, aside from war and the Armies of Karador. He was so like her sister in just about every way and Kailyn was so.. well she was a White Mage, a healer and not quite so war-like. Perhaps Cassius would find that as a distraction, perhaps he wouldn’t, who knew another’s mind, really.
“Hello Kailyn, the garden is beautifully perfect, as usual, mind if I pull up some turf and sit with you a while in the last bits of sun?” She asked as if the other girl was the same ranking as she, but of course, this was the way Kalista treated her friends, when she was with them, she threw out the royalty act.

"Not at all." She replied with the grandest of smiles and waited for Kalista to have a seat with her. "Would you like to have some fruit?" She asked as she noded her head toward the basket that was laying in the grass next to them. "It's freshly picked from this morning."
The personal guard were almost stuck to them, not but a few feet away and just standing there like posts, watching them and the suroundings. Kailyn was used to it as they were always there with Kalista, except for the few times she had evaded them for brief moments. Knowing she would probably fail, she figured to attemp anyways and adressed the captain of the personal guard. "You do know that her majesty is fully capable of defending herself? And that I, being able to know when danger is comming from miles away, am sitting right next to her? So if you think she'd be safe enough with you all not fifty feet away from her and over on those park benches, could we have some alone time among old girl friends with no eavesdroppers?" She looked at them with hopefull and pleading eyes then returned her sight to Kalista with a smile, not knowing if her request would be taken or not. But hoping it would for Kalista's sake, knowing that a girl needs that space and this one rarely did.

The guard remained, looked down at Kalista for confirmation and when she inclined her head, as if in release and not until such a time, did the guards move a distance away from the duo.
Kalista waited fro them to resituate themselves along the wall of the garden, still within a distance incase they were needed, but far enough away now that the two girls could indeed talk freely to one another without the ears of the guards listening to what it was they had to say to one another.
“Yes, I think I would love a piece.,” Kalista replied. “Thanks, by the way.” She winked at the Elf just as she was brining the fruit to her lips for a bite. “So, I understand that someone has had an eyes on a certain General in Karador.” She stated after she had finished with her bite. It there was one thing Kalista was not, it was shy, and she had gathered information by watching this young elf and the way she acted when Cassius was about in the garden. Kalista had been around for far too long not to notice the way people acted towards the ones they tended to like.

Knowing full well that Kalista was refering to her when she brought up the general, Kailyn had to hold herself back from shreeking with joy so as the guards would not come running back. So she just sat there squirming around a little with a really gidy look on her face. Once she calmed down a little she faced her friend and asked hapilly, "How could I not have my eye on him? I can't believe that he's not been snatched up already. I mean, I know there's an age gap, but I don't think that matters all that much. We both aim to protect Karador, we live and breath for it, so our goals are similar. and we have so much more in common along side our many differences. I think we could hit it off." She smilled brightly. "But I don't know how to see through him when it comes to feelings. So the way I see it, I'm going to have to ask him sometime soon to see if there is a real posibility."

Kalista grinned at her friend and leaned back now so that she was lying on the cool grass, looking up at the sky. “You know, you might be on to something there. Cassius is a man, and as such, he must have feelings that extend outwards from the protecting of Karador, though I know the working of the warriors mind as well, and often times, they see that it is not in there best interests to let themselves find time for such things as love.” She sighed.
Kalista herself had loved only once, and had vowed never to do so again, it was too much too loose one in the face of war, and the distraction had nearly cost her, her own life, ironically, had it not been for Cassius, she would have. “I guess what I am trying to say Kailyn, is for you not to be broken hearted if he chooses not to play into your loving and most deserving hand, he is a General of Karador even before he is a man, this much I do know. It will not be as easy as you think to persuade him to such an end as a loving and caring relationship outside that of his duty.” She finished.
Kalista didn’t want to try and detour the Elf, nor did she think she could. She just simply wanted it known straight up that she knew this much of Cassius and that was that he was a military man through and through, he reminded her so much of her sister that it was near scary at times.

Kailyn sighed a little and started to twirl a blade of grass in her fingers while she thought. She knew very well what Kalista just reminded her about. She knew that there were good posibilities that he'd have no interest in her or for any woman for that matter, just because of who he is, what his job entails. But she had to know.
"I know am am risking a large heart ach here if he sais he's not interested. But if I do nothing for fear of rejection, and later on in life when it's too late I find out it could of been posible." Her words trailled off. "I would never be able to forgive myself for letting that chance go by."

Kalista smiled up as she continued to look into the sky, her onyx orbs catching the sunlight as it passed from behind a small thin white cloud. “That is precisely the thing I wanted to hear Kailyn. That is as it should be, never allow yourself to be down hearted in the face of a possible disaster but instead, go forth and pluck what it is you desire and if it has thorns and those thorns prick you and make you bleed, at least you tried, and that is what matters.” She responded now turning her head to gaze at her long time friend. “You know, I think you would have made a wonderful warrior of Karador, but I am certainly glad you decided to follow your present course, as what would I have ever done without you to talk to?” She laughed slightly before returning her gaze once more tot eh sky.
“So, how do you intend on facing our dear Cassius with this wondrous news then?” She asked as she raised on fine brow in question her gaze never quite leaving the clouds as they sluggishly moved in the air currents so far above. “I wouldn’t suggest the likes of directly asking hi how he feels about you, it seems just a bit forward, don’t you think?” She finished her line of questioning and then laid one of her arms over her own chest and breathed in deeply the wonderful scents of the garden.

"To be quite honest. I have no idea." She laughed shyly, almost embarassed. "I have never been through anything like this before and therefore have no clue how to play the pieces of this game if you could call it that." Kailyn frowned and looked to the strand of grass she had been playing with and decided it was pretty much finished. Tossing it aside, she plucked another one from the vast field of it and started to toy with it as well while her thoughts continued to run wild.
"You have been around for much longer than I have. Would you have any advice as to how I could aproach him?"

At her last words, Kalista laughed, fully as a matter-of-fact. “My dear sweet girl, and I trust you do know that I don’t play that game, I have far too many things on my own plate as to worry about finding someone to spend my days with, especially since my days are numbered indefinitely.” She replied still a note of laughter in her tone. “I think you should wait for his visit one day soon, and just decide to detain him after we have finished with our talk.” She started, perhaps offer to walk with him on his return trip to the barracks, talk with him, flirt with him.” She finished, turning her eyes to the Elf now and giving her a wink.

Kailyn just rolled her eyes back, "I know that. It is kind of sad if u think on it but I know it." She scrunched up her face before going on, "Just you have lived a long while and I though that maybee you might have seen how it works."
Kalista gave her a few tips, "The main of that I think I can handle, it's just the flirting I'm not sure of. I've never done that before so I'm afraid that I may not be good at that." Kailyn just scrunched up her face again, more this time though. No one had ever managed to catch her attention before so she had no need to flirt and never thought she'd need to know. But now was another story, she sure wished that she had payed more attention to how things were done when she had the chance.

Kalista sighed. “Well, it seems as though flirting usually just comes natural. It is something that I notice a lot of girls do without even noticing they do it.” She closed her eyes and smiled. “Just strike up a conversation with him, I am certain you will end up flirting, it seems to be the female way.” She finished and then laughed a little. “You know, there are times when I wonder as to rather I had been flirting with some King or Knight and hadn’t even noticed it myself.” She put in and laughed a little more. “You will tell, because usually they will flirt right back.” She paused and opened her eyes to look at her friend. “Sometimes a bit more than you wished for, though in this case, I am certain you wouldn’t mind.” She winked and laughed again.

"I know for a certainty that your right about one thing at least." Kailyn replied as she gigled like a little shcool girl. "If Cassius happened to flirt with me, I would definately not mind it." a large smile spread accross her face at the thought of the general actually doing something that meant he had feelings for her. "I would be in heaven."
She sighed heavily, never having flirted while being aware of it and/or on purpose, she did not know how things would unfold. Straightnening out while she looked around in a peculiar way, she droped the blade of grass that she had been playing with between her fingers, "I've been around him for so many years and I know this is not some stupid crush. I really care for him deeply and would do anything for him. I'm not going to put this off any longer. Next time I see him I will put forth my best and most honest effort and let the stress be done with it." She finished, noding her head firmly.
