A young female of no more than 18 walked into the office of the hospital, it was cold out and there was but a few patients awaiting aid this night. It seemed to her that too many were dying of odd reasons these days and the last known actual Healer they had seemed to have disappeared, leaving Cella to care fro the sick and injured on her own. She was no Doctor, only a nurse, and a young one at that, she didn’t know too much about tending the injured, only the basics, and it didn’t seem to be enough, they all seemed to join one another, one by one, like lemmings being led to the slaughter. They came in feeling sick with symptoms unknown to the young nurse and left in body bags. With a great sigh, Cella turned to the closest patient and felt his forehead. Sure enough, he seemed to be hotter then was good for him and so, she moved to the cabinet and took down some fever medicine, hoping that this time, it would bring his temperature down. The last few times it seemed to not have worked and they all died, of a simple fever, one she hoped wasn’t catching. She hoped she wasn’t having an epidemic here.
She administered all the comforts she knew to those laying in their beds and then walked out of the Infirmary and into the small room that she called an office and sat heavily down behind the desk and began to scribble on a piece of parchment all that she had studied the past week. When after what seemed a long time, she gasped, reread what she had written over the last 7 days and ran as fast as she could from the office, flinging the doors to the infirmary open, she grasped what she thought to be the medicine for reducing fevers and dashed to the other side to the lab to examine it.

The news of a growing number of deaths at the hospital finally reached Kailyn's ears just the day before. Though she was not able to get in depth information as to the patients symptoms, she was aware they all suffered from mostly the same ailments and she did not need for the necromancer's to have an easier access to a large army. Using some herbs that she had already gathered earlier and after picking a few more, she spent most of the day preparing a large basket with all the ingredients and equipment she may need to help the situation.
Once she arived at the hospital, she checked quickly in all the rooms to see what the patients looked like, see if they had any flagrant symptoms. After having been to several rooms, she went looking for Cella so they figure out what exactly was going on. Finally comming accross her in the lab she put her basket down on the table by the door, "So, what have we got?"

Cella looked up from where she had just poured a bit of the potion marked as Fever reducer into a small glass vile and was just about ready to add a drop of sulfur to it when the lab door opened, making her stay her hand for moment.
She looked up at he arrival, her lavender gaze falling on the Elf and a slight look of relief came to her features as well. “Thank goodness, someone finally got my message through.” She said as she took in a deep breath. “I believe someone had tampered with my potions.” She stated. Nothing seems to be as it should.” She went on. I only wish I would have been able to put it together sooner.” She went on; each time she spoke she took a breath as if trying to calm her nerves. “I am no doctor Kailyn, I am but a newly trained nurse and I know so little.. They have left me in charge here and I don’t even know what I am doing.” Her voice was stressed her entire manner that of one who really hadn’t slept in days, and she hadn’t, she kept blaming herself fro what was happening and mulling thoughts through her mind as to what could be happening, each time she thought she had gotten to a complete answer however, that answer was silently swept form her mind, until just a few moments ago when it all hit her like a ton of bricks. “Things are not at all what they seem around here.” She stated, I could really use your help.” She finished, a pleading look in those deep lavender eyes.

"First off, take a deep breath and try to relax a little. I know that may sound imposible but you'll need to if we're going to solve this." Kailyn smiled softly.
Turning to her basket, she pulled out a few herbs along with a motar and pestal to then hand them to Cela. "Here. Crush and mix these well while I check the water to see if all's well there."
After removing a couple more items from her basket, Kailyn walked over to the water basin with a sterile vile in one hand and a little bag containing soft powder in the other. After pumping some water into the vile she droped a pinch of the powder into it and waited for it to change color, if at all. "Hmm. Are the potions made here or are they brought in from outside?"

Cella did as she said, including taking that deep breath. She started to relax slightly now that there was someone here beside herself who knew something a bit more about the work than she had. If only there were a Doctor around, if only she had known earlier, so many lives could have been saved. For this, she still blamed herself and it probably showed.
“N, no they are brought in from the outside, we get them from market usually, my mom works at the venders place who sells them.” She returned as she crushed the herbs as she was told. “Is that good?” She asked, tipping the container slightly to show Kailyn her work

Looking over to see the work that Cella had done with the herbs she replied "Yes, that will do just well thanks." She offered the girl another smile and started to clean the vile and then sterilsed it. After filling it halfway with water again, she passed the vial to Cella. "You can add the crushed herbs to the vial of water now. Shake it well."
"At least we know that there's a posibility that if the medicine was contaminated, it could of happened before it got here. The water is clean, no one tampered with it so it's safe to use. Once we figure out what ails these patients of yours we'll be able to fix them some remedy with the water you have here and the herbs I brought with."
Looking out the window to the sun, she figured it was still early morning. "We best get to it." Looking back to the nurse she inquired, "How is it? the herbs blended well?"

Cella listened to her as she spoke and nodded her head in the appropriate spots and when she was told to mix the herbs with the water she did that as well.
“I am sorry, what?” She asked to her question about the mixing and blending of the herbs. She had not been listening as she was mixing the water with what she had just crushed; being certain it was the right constancy. “And yes, I figured that perhaps they had been tampered with, trouble I seem to be having is when it would have happened.” She replied. “Unless the store room was broken into and someone did it then, as there is no other time…” She said, a note of though in her words. Indeed she was thinking and thinking hard now, as it was her mom’s place to be certain that things were secure in that shop.. She hoped that it wasn’t her fault.

"Well, it either happened at the shop where you got it from or someone broke into the supply closet here at the hospital. It's the only two ways I can see." Kailyn stoped talking while she looked around the room and over to where Cella had been when she walked in. "That is, if it was tampered with at all. You were about to add a powder to it when I came in. We should see to finishing that test before we go see the patients. Just to be able to eliminate posibilities before we go on."
Extending her hand in an inviting gester towards the nurse to let her go by first, she smiled and said, "Bottoms up! That mixture will help clear your head, wake you up some and give you the energy to go on for several more hours. Should be enough to get us through this. Then you can have a real good sleep." Kailyn then winked at her.

Cella gave Kailyn a look in return that said it all; thank you, relief and happiness. She was very grateful for the Elf’s help, she had been at the end of her rope and now it seemed that, with a new outlook, a new mind to pick, she was actually going to beat this thing, whatever it was.
“Thank you Kailyn.” She said simply and then moved back to the small vial she had prepared before the Elf had arrived.
“Well, if I add this and the potion turns gray in color it will mean that who ever had tampered with it changed it to something else, I surmise…” She poured the sulfur into the vile and twirled the tiny glass container around a couple times and watched as the color went from a bright red to a dull, lifeless gray in color. “Poison.” She finished her sentence and then sighed looking up at Kailyn, removing a loose strand of unruly hair from her face as she did.
“Well, that’s that, now I should test the others.” She stated and then moved to her stores of potions. “I just gave that poor man out there a dose of this stuff and if we don’t find an antidote soon, he’s got about a day at most.” She said with a near growl in her voice.

"Alright, so if we try to prioritise things to get the most out of this day, we should probably figure out what poison it is so we can get the right antidote and once once we have that we need to administer it to those who need it. Once the patients are all taken care of we'll need to test all the other remedies that you have here so as to make sure nothing else could go wrong with that aspect." She said while scanning the laboratory they were standing in.
After a few moments, Kailyn scrunched up her face and turned slowly to face Cella. Knowing full well that she could figure it out herself if she had brought more items along with her, though she knew she could not have planed for every circumstance, she thought it would be best if Cella did the next part as the gardner had little experience in what humans called science. "I work more with herblore than with sciences. So if you would like to do the honors and test the poison to see what kind it is exactly, we can get on with the show." she said with a smile.

Cella turned her violet eyes on Kailyn and smiled and then nodded her head once in a quick motion.
“Right, onto it then.” She stated and then returned her attention back to the vial she held in her hand and began to look at it carefully.
After a moment of visual study, she reached over and grabbed a dropped and put it inside the small vile, drawing a small amount of the poison from its insides and then setting the vial in the proper holder and walked over to the other table, directly behind her and sat down on the tall stool before grasping the microscope sitting there and depositing a drop of the poison on a glass plate and sliding another, slimmer one over top to seal it in, she placed the drop in position and lowered her eye to the scope.
It was several long moments later that Cella looked up again and sighed. “It seems to have the properties of a nerve toxin but there is something else in there, something I can’t quite figure out…” She started as she rubbed her eyes and her neck. “That odor…” She said though it was more of an outward thought than any real statement. “Almost like…” She stood up and walked over to the window and gazed out of it for a few moments, her mind working very hard on something. “I know what it is, why can’t I place it.” She growled slightly.

After Cella had taken off to the counter not too far from them to test the poison, Kailyn slowly walked about the room to see what kind of instalation it had. She had never been in a hospital before and she therefore found the sights of interest. She had rarely seen or even used many of the mechanical items that layed about on the counter tops, many of them having strange forms and came in different sizes.
She did not have time to see very much when Cella sighed and spoke up again. As the nurse continued to think alloud, the elven woman walked towards her grabing a stool on the way by. Setting it down behind the girl she started with a smile, "Have a seat and ease up a little. Close your eyes, try to relax a little more to let your thoughts flow more easily. And if you think it will help that process you can even have a free back rub to help you along." She paused and looked Cella in her violet eyes. "I know you may not believe it, but you can solve this thing."
