A small figure stepped out from the small grove of trees that lined the still waters of the Lake of Karador, her red hair glistened in the sun like long coppery strands of red-gold, her violet eyes surveyed the seemingly empty shore and a smile pressed up the corners of her full lips as she moved forward, a towel hanging over one hand and bare feet now stepping onto the soft grass that boarded just a few feet from the shore of the pristine waters that beckoned her to come and test them.
At last time to relax. she thought to herself as she lay her large towel out flat on the grassy surface of the ground before her.
Cell had little time as of late to relax but since the Elf woman had helped her find what the problem was with the horrible dying of all her patience in the ward, she now found that she had a few hours to herself on these hot summer days to spend out in the open, instead penned up in the hospital wracking her brain trying to find a cure that was evidently not needed.
She now stepped away from her towel and walked to the waters edge and dipped a bare toe into the cool waters.
“Yes.” She sighed with relief at the coolness that ran up her leg as she now stepped into the water and then, without so much as a warning, she giggled like the child she was, and plunged into the water and swam out further, beneath the surface. It had always been this way with her, it seemed she never ran out of breath, could stay under water for many long moments, never quite understanding why, though never tested it too far, as she figured she would one day pass out holding her breath at the wrong time and so, she broke the surface several yard further towards the deeper waters and turned over on her back and simply floated there, looking up and allowed her gaze to follow the sluggishly moving thin layer of clouds in the sky.

From somewhere about the shores of the lake, a horse whinnied loudly, and a man's voice broke the silence, "i'd be mindful young lady. No one is safe alone in these lands any longer." The voice was deep and proud, and it came from one of three men, each sat astride powerful war horses, which were stood atop a hill by the lake shore. A road ran behind them from the outskirts to the great capital city of Karador, and General Cassius and two of his officers had been on their way back to the city from a military outpost to the east. Moments earlier they had been travelling along the dirt track, when they had heard a voice from down by the lake, and decided to investigate. One could never be too careful in times like these.

Cella was lazily floating on the surface of the lake when she felt the approach of several large creatures. It was yet another of her peculiarities; the be so sensitive to these type of things. It wasn’t a sound, no, she hadn’t heard them approach, she felt the vibrations in the still waters as the horses hooves pounded along the dirt road that lead them to the lake.
So, as it was, she was not surprised when she heard him call out to her and after he had spoken, she turned her head to the side and offered the General a girlish smile, her lavender orbs flashing brightly in the sun reflecting waters like purple fire.
“Thank you Sir, for the kind warning and I will be certain to take care and stay safe.” She called back, her eyes washing over the small group of men. She admired them, she loved the fact that these men would always be there to protect and care for any who dwelled in these lands, much the same as she strived to, only she didn’t put her life on the line to do so.
Cella thought a moment and milling questions in her mind of things happening in the great cities of Karador. There had been rumors of Necromancers she had found more than a bit stressing and she figured, why not ask and so, she did.
“Tell me, is it true the rumors of Necromancers?” She asked, her violet eyes searching what she could make out of the faces above her.

Cassius looked about the lakeside as he listened. The country was beautiful, serene, scenic - perfect. These were the lands that his men fought and died for, and below him, was one of the people who they gave their own lives for, so they might live on. Cassius almost smiled, almost. He recognised her face from somewhere. Perhaps he had seen her around the city. She was a well meaning young woman, and pretty for one her age. Cassius however, was well beyond thought of such such things - little did he know kiara had a few things to say to him that would jerk him back to reality shortly after his return to the city. "Necromancers?" Cassius said, "Of course. There have always been necromancers and evil folk abroad in the borderlands. What you must be wary f now is that they have become more bold somehow. They are less timid, and openly raising the dead from their places of rest across the kingdom, to pester the living - or worse. It is not safe for you to be out here alone, my dear. We are headed back to the city, and can offer you travel and protection, as is our duty." Cassius told her, his tone flat, but by no means unfriendly, he was just slightly distant this day, as the previous night he had been on the road for many hours, traveling from one encampment to another outpost in the borderlands. It seemed his work would never be done, Cassius thought, before reminding himself of the gear lands and good people he dedicated his life to.

Cella watched the man speak to her, her violet eyes curiously thinking of what could possibly be worse than what they had already started, little did she know just how up close and personal she would be to what was about to erupt in the city of Karador in just a few more days.
“I think…” She started. “That I will take you up on that offer sir” She continued. “And I thank you for it I know you are a busy man and to offer such assistance as this is perhaps a bit out of your way..” She added before she dove back under the waters surface and swam as such, under the cool waters of the clear lake until she reached the last few feet of the shore, where she came up and walked out and up to gather her things at the edge of the grove of trees she had traversed to get here in the first place, neither winded nor shivering from the cool breeze that swept over her tiny wet body.
It took her no more than a few moments to throw on the bluish sundress over her swimwear and to once again, draper her towel over one arm and begin to walk towards the three mounted giants on the hilltop. The entire time, hser mind was trying to remember something, something that she couldn’t place, like perhaps she had forgotten something back in the water, but it wasn’t that and she knew it. There was something else that bothered her, had been bothering her for a few days now. She, as usual, shrugged it off as to having a paranoid mind, letting the thoughts of the dead walking about their city get he better of her.

Cassius actually smiled. Well, almost. His thin lips drew back into what looked more like a grimace of pain than an expression of glee. Nontheless, he dismounted his horse and lead the proud white stallion to the top of the incline that lead down to the waters edge, "Come then," He began, "Would you care to ride with me? Or perhaps one of the the colonel's over there? Cassius asked, glancing over to see the answering grin on their faces. Cassius chuckled, barely audibly and then turned back to Cella, "I don't think i caught your name, miss?" He said, "I am Cassius Ado Virtus, or at least that's what some call me."

Cella watched as he lead the mighty warhorse down the hill towards her and she couldn’t help but smile. All her life was devoted to helping others and she had always admired the soldiers and what they stood for and when Cassius introduced himself to her she nearly faltered in her steps. Of course, had she not been so preoccupied by the horse itself, as young girls often are, she would have taken note of his armor and dress, and would have realized just who he was in the beginning, but, she was just that, a young girl and was indeed already in love with his horse.
Cella then looked up the hill at the two seated on their mounts and took note of their smiles and then immediately moved her lavender gaze back to Cassius.
“Hum, if you don’t mind sir, I think I would like to ride with you.” She stated very quickly, a slight blush coming to her cheeks. “And, I am Narcella Dinarcus, Cella if you would.” She then introduced herself, inclining her head slightly to him.

Cassius's perpetual frown faltered and faded, and he chuckled openly as the young woman looked over his two friends and companions. It was evident that their thoughts had shone right through their beaming smiles, and clearly put her off the idea their close company for a while. Cassius's smile broadened as he stepped forward to offer his hand to the young woman, Cella she had said her name was. "Pleased to make your acquaintance Cella, now let's get you up and out of here. Nice as this place is, I'd much prefer to be within the city walls by nightfall." He said, calmly surveying the scene. There was always a chance that dead lurked in the shadows of the great pines, or lay beneath their feet. Only the glare of the sun kept them at bay, and these lands were no longer safe. "Come, we must get back to the road if we are to return before nightfall."

Cella continued to blush slightly as Cassius chuckled over the situation but that soon fell away as he turned and offered his hand to her. She then placed her small hand in his large, armored one and looked up now, at the horse and smiled herself. “Yes, maybe you’re right.” She started, her eyes moving away from the animal to survey the grounds, as if following Cassius’s gaze, the smile that was there fading rather quickly as a slight chill ran up her spine. Though, it could have been anything, she just suddenly felt as though their moving away from their position was not such a bad idea.
Cella had always had feeling that she couldn’t explain, thoughts and even visions of things she knew nothing of, she more often than not, always listened to them as well. She supposed this is what always made her a good Nurse.
Now, she allowed her gaze to move back to gaze at the magnificent animal she was about ready to get a chance to sit upon and that smile returned again. “He is beautiful.” She stated as a fact, now turning that smile towards Cassius where it grew all the more.
