Name: Savage Street
Age: 19
Race/Type: Human/Street Rat
Appearance: Street is very fit, stands about 5'10, and has dark hair that he typically keeps short. He tends to wear little clothing and is often shirtless; not that he has much for clothes to begin with.
Likes: He is very athletic and loves running, climbing, and swimming. Despite his station, Street has a fondness of liquors and food though he can little afford either, much like his appetite for gambling of all sorts; mostly bets.
Dislikes: Bullies, Condescension.
Skills: Street is extremely fit and extremely agile; He is strong, fast, and carries incredible stamina. He can climb most anything, run up walls, and jump like a gymnast. He is also a fierce brawler from countless confrontations, often against multiple – and in his younger years – older fighters. Street-smarts is another thing this young man has in great abundance.
Demeanour: Street is generally up-beat, and tirelessly curious, adventurous, and confident. He is generally a smart ass and can seldom pass up a challenge.
Armour/Weapons: He wears no armour, and carries only a simple knife on the back of his belt; mostly a handy tool.
History: Savage was conceived by rape and born in an alley to a homeless mother too weak to bare his birth. The screams of her labour attracted the apprehensive attention of some teenaged street rats who had been taking shelter near by. Uneasily, the homeless teens helped with the birthing of the boy, and then took care of him in his mother's place; It was a mixture of bad fostering experiences and irresponsible decisions that kept the child from the orphanage.
He lived from birth on the streets, raised by many in the community of youths that lived there too. Everyone called him Street, and at times - particularly regarding fights – Savage, and had mostly expected him to pick himself a name. He had simply grown accustomed to the given names and introduced himself by them, eventually combining the two.
With no parents or schooling, the city was his playground; he ran around the streets, climbed on buildings, and lurked about the rooftops. Street had freedom to wander off as soon as he could walk, and the inevitable experiences were the lessons in his life. Savage spent a lot of time alone running, climbing, and jumping about the city, but always enjoyed the company of others. He had learned to read and went to the library from time to time – the only formal learning he had – but those visits were spent more in conversation than in reading.
Many fellow riff raff moved on to either of a few subsequent walks to their own such as the thieves guild or prison. Those that Street was raised among were mostly scavengers for their needs, and Savage took great exception to those that would prey on the comparably helpless to get what they wanted; this was the source of many fights, as were the gangs of riff raff formed by those not as poorly as he; who came from homes in the city and formed in angst and depravity; who tried to bully the poor. Savage holds a sort of personal vendetta upon these groups.
Street still keeps no consistent home, but rather takes shelter and rests in a variety of spots around the city and keeps most of his possessions on him at all times. What little else is hidden in a few places around the city. He gets most of his coin from gambling in back alleys and fighting for bets, choosing not to steal if at all possible. Any theft he commits is for the more basic of things like bread, from successful grocers, and as a last resort. Any surplus gained in coin or in food stuffs or assets, he shares with other street rats in need.
